So you have invested in the long term protection of you vehicles paint? well done that’s certainly the most difficult part. Hopefully the aftercare of your coating has been explained to you and certainly it would have been explained if your car was coated by us when you received your aftercare kit, regardless though I will outline the easiest way. Regardless of the coating either, ceramic, graphene, bosphorene or liquid glass the care is similar and mostly the longevity of your coating (regardless of warranty) depends on what you do and more importantly dont do.
The Basics.
This is quite simple, the less times you can touch your car the longer the protection will last.,If you get something on your paint like bird or bat poo etc hose it off simple right? Most warranties weather worth anything or not require you to wash your vehicle once a month using the correct method. As a slight deviation and no coating regardless of what you have been sold will last forever in most cases we see them needing attention at around 3 to 5 years max across all types of coatings and their longevity depends on the vehicles usage and care.
What to avoid?
Well, harsh chemicals, bushes, chamois and most importantly car washes. If you get your car washed only use a hand carwash service and ask them to use PH neutral washes/ chemiclas.
How to Wash your car.
So really the vehicle should be washed at least once a month or more if it gets dirty, start off by hosing down the whole car, from then you can use a ph neutral snow foam or hose down the car. If using snow foam you should let it dwell and do its job then hose off. Next move into contact wash wth ph neutral soap in a clean bucket of water, you can use a 2 bucket system (preferred) one bucket is for top of car down to mid part of door use a soft sponge or wash mit to clean car (except wheels which should be cleaned with a different bucket usually with a variety of brushes etc) the lower part can then be cleaned in same manor . Hose the car again and then move into drying stage. Here we can use a blower to remove most of the water which should be beading wonderfully. then use a microfiber towel to mop up and excess. Using this method minimizes swirl marks on contact scratches.
Its really that simple, once you have washed your coated car you will wonder why you didn’t do it earlier. Most customers are amazing about how great the car looks with very minimal time spent especially compared to an un coated car.
